Sometimes the pets with the most love to give also need to receive a little effort back. And that’s true for this 7-year-old black beauty named Margot.


Margot is a finicky lady. She loves to curl up tight in her “home”- that’s what we call her snuggly bed where she knows she’s warm and secure.


Margot's had a tough time finding the right home to handle her antics. She's a know-it-all and really wants things to be her way or the highway. We try to tell her not to worry, that someone will come in that will love her for who she is, but she doesn’t quite believe us yet. She’s nervous she’ll be taken home and show her sassy side, then she'll be promptly returned to the shelter. She’s a “special needs” cat, looking for a very special person to love her unconditionally, in all her bossy glory.


Don’t get us wrong– Margot absolutely is a great, awesome cat...for the right person. She has awesome qualities, like using her litter box 100% of the time and keeps her “home” neat and tidy. She also likes other cats and dogs too. She's cute as a button and hopes her good looks & sassy attitude will make someone take the leap and adopt her. What do you say? Providence Animal Center is funded solely by adoption fees and donations. Adoption fees vary per animal, please call the Adoption Center and reference this animal's ID number in order to obtain accurate fee information. The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed blend for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed blend. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Our adoption requirements and a printable application form may be found on our website. With your adoption fee you get a lot for FREE! All the pets adopted from Providence Animal Center are given wellness exams, are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. Additionally, dogs over 7 months old are heartworm tested and all felines are tested for FELV/FIV. Adopters may receive discounted wellness care from our adoptions health department, and also get a complimentary wellness visit at a participating private veterinary practice up to 30 days post-adoption and the pets are given personality evaluations. It doesn't stop there- a gift of one month of pet health insurance is included along with unlimited phone consultations and e-mail exchanges with our trained feline and canine behavior experts.
